Mike One Star was a wonderful Guide and I wholeheartedly recommend him to any hunters. He is experienced knowledgeable of the game, the tribe and the reservation. He has a deep background and explains the nature and traditions associated with hunting. He finds lots of game for the hunters while providing an extraordinary experience at Rosebud Reservation.

Paul Joseph is a crook. He double booked our turkey hunt with two other groups. We rented a house from him and he had other hunters staying there. He overslept every morning and when we confronted him about it, his response was “I shouldn’t have to babysit you.” When we asked him how we were supposed to know where we could hunt (because he only showed us one spot, that happened to be a couple hundred yards from his house and held zero birds), he told us to purchase an app on our phone. We didn’t have any opportunities to harvest a turkey because he didn’t know where they were located or where they would roost. We don’t need a guide to call a bird for us or point us to the exact tree to sit under, but we would expect him to at least tell us what property we can hunt.

This was my first ever guided hunt of any kind and Phil exceeded all my expectations. And he made a dream hunt become reality. Hope to come back to South Dakota Spring of 2025 and will be looking to use Phil's service again. Thank you to the people of Rosebud for allowing us to have a chance to come to your land and hunt such a beautiful animal !!!!!
