Big Game Rules and Regulations

1. All big game taken must have a tag securely attached to either a leg or to an antler before loading into or onto any conveyance. The tag must be signed. The tag must be dated the day of harvest.
2. Baiting is unlawful.
3. Evidence of sex must be left on the carcass.
4. Silenced weapons are illegal.
5. It shall be unlawful to hunt big game for another person.
6. No person shall scare, chase, harass, disperse, or otherwise disturb wildlife other than by legal hunting methods.
7. No big game permittee, while hunting in the field, shall be accompanied by any non-permittee carrying any type of weapon. Once a permittee has filled their permit they must retire their weapon.
8. It shall be unlawful to hunt big game with a cartridge less than two inches in length, which discharges a projectile of a diameter less than 22/100 of an inch. Ammunition must have a soft point or expanding bullet.
9. Big game may be hunted with large caliber handguns of .41 caliber or larger with at least a 4-inch barrel length.
10.  It shall be unlawful to hunt with a muzzleloading weapon that discharges a projectile with a diameter of less than 42/100 of an inch.
11.  No self-loading (semiautomatic) firearm that holds more than six cartridges may be used.
12.  Bows shall pull no less than 40 pounds at a 28-inch draw. Arrowheads must have a cutting edge of 7/8 of an inch wide and be no less than 11/2 inches long. The arrow shaft must not be less than 24 inches long. Arrowheads must be of reasonable sharpness.
13.  Archers shall not possess any firearm while hunting during any archery season.
14.  It shall be unlawful to use buckshot to hunt big game or to use a slug weighing less than 1/2 ounce.
15.  It shall be unlawful to use dogs to hunt big game.
16.  It shall be unlawful to use artificial light to hunt big game.
17.  The possession, sale or transportation of illegally taken game birds, animals or fish by any person shall be a misdemeanor.
18.  No person using a bow and arrow shall use explosive points, poisonous points, barbed points or a crossbow.
