Resolution 2001-173

The Rosebud Sioux Tribal Council passed Resolution 2001-173, which amends Resolution 2000-150, and which pertains to only RESIDENT hunters:

"…WHEREAS, the Rosebud Sioux Tribe's Department of Natural Resources recommends the following amendments to RST Resolution No. 00-150;

1. Any and all business licenses issued to non-tribal member individuals, partnerships, corporations, business and any other entity owned and operated by non-tribal member for the purpose of providing hunting and fishing guiding services on all trust lands on the Rosebud Reservation are hereby revoked and canceled.

2. The following individuals are exempt from RST Resolution No. 00-150 requiring all non-members to hire registered Rosebud Sioux Tribe member guides.

a) Any individual married to a tribal member providing a copy of a marriage license, residing on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation more than ninety (90) days and provides a copy of a South Dakota driver's license.

b) Any individual whose parent is an enrolled member, providing a copy of a birth certificate, naming enrolled parent, providing the parent's abstract/degree of Indian blood and resides on the Rosebud Reservation for more than ninety (90) days.

c) An individual whose child is an enrolled Rosebud Sioux Tribal member, providing a copy of the child's birth certificate, provide the child's abstract/degree of Indian blood and resides on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation more than ninety (90) days.

d) Any individual proving employment with the United States Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Indian Health Service, Todd County School District, St. Francis School District, Sinte Gleska University, RST Law Enforcement or the Rosebud Sioux Tribe.

e) Any individual who resides within the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in either Todd, Mellette, Tripp, Gregory or Lyman Counties and provides a copy of a South Dakota driver's license.

f) Any individual purchasing a Rosebud Sioux Tribal non-member fishing stamp and engaging in fishing only.

g) Any non-member engaged in coyote hunting only.

WHEREAS, the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Land and Natural Committee recommends to the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Council to adopt the amendments to RST Resolution No. 00-150; now

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Council hereby adopts the amendments to RST Resolution No. 00-150.
